We slept in again. After breakfast, I lingered to finish a jigsaw puzzle and Carl took off for the Durham Boat Company for another sculling lesson.

After I finished the jigsaw puzzle, I realized Carl should have taken a Clif bar and apple with him to eat when he finished his lesson, so I grabbed those and drove over to take him his lunch. He was out rowing along with a local couple. If I had been thinking, I would have grabbed one of the cameras and gotten some pictures of him in action.

After watching him for a while, I took off for Durham for my lunch. I had a leisurely lunch at one of the restaurants in town that seemed to be very popular with the students and their parents, most of whom were having Sunday brunch.

The back to Inn where I checked the weather for the rest of the week. Looks like it will be pretty good. Carl walked in while I was doing that. He ate his apple, then we headed for a drug store for some dental floss...

Back to Inn, where we grabbed the camera gear and took some of the back roads to American Stonehenge. What a joke!!! Very overpriced and a definite tourist trap. They were trying to read deep meanings into some rock fences and early caves. Don't bother going there.

The photos above show some of the stacked rocks at "America's Stonehenge". The ones on the left form a doorway while the ones in the right photo are part of a wall.

The photo on the left above shows another rock wall. The center photo is a close look at the same wall. Regardless of who built the walls and when, the workmanship is amazing. The photo on the right shows one of the "monoliths" which, when sighted over from the central observation area, is supposed to align with sunrise or sunset for one of the important days of the celestial calendar.

Dinner was back in Durham - burgers and beer at yet another college town restaurant. All three of the ones we ate at were within a block of each other.

Then, it was back to Inn to recharge everything since we'll be without electricity for the next week. There were freshly baked cookies in common room, which we took to our room to eat while watching part 5 of Ken Burn’s The War.
