Today was overcast, so I grabbed my camera gear and headed for Olympic National Park.

Sol Duc Falls, Olympic National Park, WA My main destination of the day was Sol Duc Falls (left). I’d been there several years ago, on a sunny day, and wanted some better pictures. Overcast days are the best days to shoot waterfalls. I spent a lot of time back on the trail to the falls and got some decent shots.

Then I stopped at Marymere Falls on the way back. After Sol Duc, Marymere Falls were just okay.

Coming down the road from Sol Duc, the gas light came on. I hadn’t realized it was that low. I did make it back to Port Angeles with gas to spare, but I wasn’t sure there for a while...

I also stopped at Safeway there in Port Angeles to pick up some more breakfast stuff. Coming out, I got stuck in traffic!! They were repaving a three mile stretch of road and traffic was really backed up. We had a quiet dinner, just the three of us, and played cribbage until bedtime.
