We got up at the usual time. Everyone else was up early, also. Carl didn’t sleep well.

We all packed up and left about 9. Jenny and Jim were heading straight back to Denver. We left just minutes after they did.

The photo on the left is the gate to our condo - Kokopelli riding a bicycle. The photo on the right shows a similar Kokopelli bike rider installed in downtown Moab. A nearby shop had a Kokopelli doing an "endo" (falling over the handlebars) on his bicycle, but they were closed when we went back through town and the statue wasn't visible from the window.

We drove along the Colorado River off and on for most of the trip to Denver. The photos above were taken at a campground not far from Moab and show the bluffs surrounding this section of road. It's close to being the opposite view of the river shown in yesterday's photos, but not quite.

We stopped at a Welcome Center for Colorado and picked up a bunch of reading material.

Lunch was at Smuggler’s in Grand Junction. I had a toasted cheese sandwich (three different cheeses - yum).

The clouds increased as the day went on. The rain started about Vail. And as we went over Vail Pass the heavy rain had snow mixed in with it!!! It wasn’t sticking, but it was falling. The temperature dropped to 39.

The rain let up a bit after the pass. We stopped for gas at Frisco. Then drove on to Longmont where we checked into the Hampton Inn.

Dinner that night was at Pump House. Good beer. Their kitchen messed up the order, causing us to wait an extraordinarily long time, so they didn’t charge us for it, just the beers...

Back to hotel and crashed. Again.
