These are some of the many waterfalls found in Mt. Rainier National Park.
The three photos above are of Christine Falls. The two photos on the left are taken from the overlook area. The photo on the right is of the upper portion of Christine Falls and was taken from the side of the road. The three photos above are of Silver Falls. The two photos on the left also show the large trees brought down the river during the flooding in November 2006. The entire bank facing the falls (the one I'm standing on for this photo) was scoured of trees by the flooding. The trail has been rebuilt, but it will take years to restore the hillside to the thickly forested bank it used to be here. The photo on the left above is a close view of a cascade in an unnamed stream next to 4th Crossing Trail. The center photo is an unnamed waterfall that's visible from the road where the Paradise River crosses the Stevens Pass Road. The photo on the right above is of the same unnamed stream as the photo on the left, but shows some of the wildflowers growing along the stream. The three photos above were taken at an unnamed waterfall that's visible from the road where the Paradise River crosses the Stevens Pass Road. The photo on the left shows one of my friends, Julie, setting up a close-up shot. The center photo shows the larger waterfall visible on the other side of the road. And the photo on the right is a close view of the water sliding over the rocks close to Julie's feet. The three photos above are detail images of the larger waterfall in the previous set of three photos. |
