This is a sample of the wildflowers I found at Mt. Rainier.
The photo on the left above is of Rosy spirea (Spiraea densiflora). The center photo above is an arrangement of Magenta paintbrush (Castilleja parviflora) and pearly everlastings (Anaphalis margaritacea). The photo on the right shows pasqueflower (Anemone occidentalis) seed heads. The photo on the left above is a magenta paintbrush (Castilleja parviflora) in front of the leaves of a false hellebore (Veratrum viride). The center photo also has magenta paintbrush (Castilleja parviflora) in front of the leaves of a false hellebore (Veratrum viride) and adds some pearly everlastings (Anaphalis margaritacea). The photo on the right closes in on the graceful leaves of the false hellebore (Veratrum viride). The photo on the left above shows a dewdrop clinging to the end of a false hellebore (Veratrum viride) leaf. The center photo shows an unnamed stream and a bank of avalanche lilies (Erythronium montanum). The photo on the right is a closer view of avalanche lilies (Erythronium montanum). The photo on the left above is a grouping of broadleaf lupine (Lupinus latifolius) against two logs. The remaining photos show the resiliency of nature. These plants and flowers are growing from cracks in the rocks. The photo on the left above is a subalpine meadow above the Visitor's Center at Paradise. It's carpeted with paintbrush, pearly everlastings, and other wildflowers. The center photo is of broadleaf lupine (Lupinus latifolius) and golden asters (Heterotheca villosa). The photo on the right is of broadleaf lupine (Lupinus latifolius) and alpine asters (Aster alpigenus). The photo on the left above is a group of Jeffrey's shooting stars (Dodecatheon jeffreyi). The center photo is of a stream leading into Tipsoo Lake with moss and arrowleaf groundsel (Senecio triangularis).
