All day at sea today.

The seas were calmer overnight. Just a gentle rocking. I got up about 6:30 to do some exercises in the gym. My back sure appreciated the workout. My right knee still giving me problems (from the overextension in Seattle).

Breakfast was at the Oceanview Cafe, where whales kept us company!

It was a lazy day. I saw a woman at the pool that I thought was Kelly! How embarrassing when she gave me a blank look and asked if she knew me.

Neither the tequila tropicale nor the capricorn were as good today as they were yesterday. I suppose it depends on who makes them.

Carl went on tour of boat. He asked questions the crew wasn't expecting and couldn't answer...

The photo on the left shows part of the kitchen. Carl says it had a lot of stainless steel there.

The photo on the right attempts to show how steep the below deck staircases are.

The photo on the left shows the door to the bridge being unlocked. There's limited access to the bridge.

The photo on the right shows one of the three stations on the bridge where a person can steer the boat.

Ships laundry - and it comes out folded, ship tour, off the coast of OR Computer controlling laundry process, ship tour, off the coast of OR

The photo on the left shows laundry (in this case, pillow cases) coming out of the complicated laundry machine. The laundry is dumped in, pre-smoothed by the special crew, and comes out folded and ready for use.

The photo on the right shows the computer that controls the entire laundry process. The chart above it shows which program to run for white towels, colored towels, etc.

Engine control room, ship tour, off the coast of OR Status of electric generators, ship tour, off the coast of OR

The photo on the left shows the engine control room from a viewing area.

The photo on the right shows the screens giving the status of various electric generators. The screen in the center shows some detail on one of the screws propelling the ship. Each can be controlled separately, allowing almost unlimited course direction, like moving sideways when coming into dock.

Carl said the guide for this section of the tour started looking at him as if he were a secret inspector doing an inspection of the ship's processes. Carl kept his mouth shut after that...

So, I had lunch at the Ocean View Cafe alone. There were some talkative people at the rest of the table. Evidently there was a major screwup a couple of days ago at customs and immigration in Seattle...

I spent part of the day moving from place to place as other activities (or the sun) chased me out of each spot. I finally found Kelly mid afternoon up in the Sky Lounge. She did watercolors.

Kelly, Marilyn, and Carl get dressed up for dinner, off the coast of OR

Dinner was dressy and in main dining room. We all had the lobster tail. It was a slow dinner as the chef goofed up the special order (no butter on mine). So they brought extra lobster for Carl and Kelly.

After dinner, we tried to find a decent spot to ask someone to take a photo of the three of us. Of three attempts, this one came out the best.

We wandered the common area for a while. Then went to the show in the theater. It was okay. Supposedly, rock through the ages. The acrobats were great - the singers not so great. Then we crashed and Kelly went to another dance..
