Sunday, September 24 After breakfast at the hotel, we checked out and grabbed an Uber to Canada Place. We spent a long time in traffic for a 15 minute ride. There were three cruise ships unloading and reloading that day, so traffic was horrendous. We finally got to the drop-off place and checked our luggage. Then walked through the huge complex to finally get to the check in for our cruise line. It was actually one of the shortest cruise line check-in lines I've ever been in. It was very well organized and the line moved quickly. We finally got on board a little before noon. We dropped our carry ons off in our stateroom, then explored the ship. We had lunch in the Oceanview Cafe - the ubiquitous buffet. We'd wind up eating here most of the time. We're all set to go, but the ship isn't. The photo on the left shows one of the life preservers for our ship with my glass of wine in front of it. The ship in the background is a Royal Caribbean ship that is also sailing today (Radiance of the Seas). It sounded like they were have a party over there. Very loud, slightly off-key music playing loud enough so that conversation on our ship was almost impossible! . . . We had a rainy, late departure, so no photos of us going under the Lion's Gate Bridge. However, I did take two photos of the Royal Caribbean ship leaving port. The photo on the left shows the ship leaving the dock. The photo on the right shows it steaming towards the Lion's Gate Bridge, a path we would follow a couple of hours later. We had dinner in main dining room then crashed early, after unpacking our bags and getting the room set up to our satisfaction. |
