Our last full day at Zion.

After breakfast at the Bumbleberry, we headed back through the tunnel to explore that side of the park.

It was a fairly laid back day, stopping at many of the pull-off areas and some times hiking a short distance from the road.

Tree and sandstone swirls, Zion National Park, UT Tree and sandstone bluff, Zion National Park, UT Sandstone formations, also known as hoodoos, Zion National Park, UT

The three photos above show some of the interesting formations found on the east side of Zion National Park.

West Temple, Sundial, Altar of Sacrifice from Canyon Overlook, Zion National Park, UT

Our only formal trail was the Overlook Trail, which starts at the eastern end of the tunnel and snakes half a mile up the side canyon to an overlook with a good view of the valley, including the switchbacks leading from the western end of the tunnel (see the photo to the left).

After a leisurely afternoon, we cleaned up and walked across to the library to check on email.

Dinner was back at the Pizza & Noodle for a good pizza and beers, then back to the room to pack up.
