We woke up to cloudy skies again! In fact, we’d look over in the direction of Coyote Buttes off and on during the day and see rain falling in that area. For once, my timing was perfect!!

We had planned to spend the bulk of this day in the slot canyons of Antelope Canyon, but that really needs sunshine for the best pictures. So, we decided to take our chances on Friday being clearer and spent most of the day being tourists.

After breakfast, we sorted the dirty clothes and took them to the laundromat next to Wal Mart. The hotel had a laundry room, but only one washer was working (and it was in use every time we walked by).

An hour and a half later, we were back in the room with clean clothes.

Our next stop was the local library, on the recommendation of the hotel staff. Turns out most libraries will allow internet access on their computers for much less than some of the commercial places. The kiosk we had used in Bryce charged $1.00 for five minutes and nagged you when your time was almost up. The library charged $3.00 for a half hour.

Since it was the slow time of the year, she told us we could take as long as we needed. Our internet provider has a webmail interface, so all we needed was a connection to the internet to check our email! My primary purposes for checking email were to clear out the tons of spam and to see if any of my customers had sent me anything.

After wading through the spam, I found a message from one of my customers and one from my sister, Jenny! Answered both.

Back through town looking for some place for a simple lunch. Glen Canyon Steak House was where we wound up. We tried the wine burgers - most excellent!!!

Then we drove to most of the overlooks we could find - starting with the Horseshoe Bend overlook and working our way upstream.

Glen Canyon Dam, Page, AZ

I took some decent pictures (like the one to the right) of Glen Canyon Dam from one overlook - the overcast helped with that one!

We wound up at one of the marinas where they had a huge houseboat open for visitors. The kitchen on that thing was almost as big as the one in our house!

We finally quit for the day and got cleaned up for dinner. Dinner was at the Bella Napoli - excellent food and even better service. And the prices were reasonable, also.
