We were up by 6 am to finish packing and drive to the airport.

We turned in the rental car (not a word was said about the mud (LOL)) and checked in.

The rest of the trip was typical airline stuff and fairly uneventful. We were a couple of minutes late getting in to Atlanta. There was only a 45 minute layover scheduled, so we hustled from T2 to C34 and, as we approached the gate, they were announcing final boarding for the flight to Tri-Cities. We were the last two to board.

Since we had rescheduled the return, our seats weren’t together. Carl started to sit down in his when he realized he was sitting next to our next door neighbor Tony! The man I was sitting next to offered to switch - insisted on it, in fact - so Carl and I did wind up sitting together.

It’s been a nice three-day weekend here at home getting everything caught up. We didn’t let anyone know we were back in town, so it’s been very, very quiet (g).
