We had breakfast at the Lodge again. Then it was back to the room to change shoes and fill the water bottles.

We drove out to Cape Royal's parking area again to use the restrooms, then dropped back one overlook to hike the Cliff Springs Trail. Very pleasant trail through the woods, then under some overhangs to the small spring, which, at this time of year is a seep.

Not far from the parking lot is an ancient granary. There's not much left of it, but the photo on the left shows this miniscule storage area.

Some of the sights on Cliff Springs Trail. The photo on the left shows the colorful walls across the narrow canyon from our trail. Those trees are 40-60 feet tall... The center photo shows the end of this little side canyon and the larger canyon beyond. The photo on the right shows me on the trail as it starts under the overhang.

The photo on the left shows some hand prints on the canyon wall over the spring. I don't think these are ancient, as we were able to make new ones just by getting our hand wet in the spring water and splatting it against a bare spot on the wall. There were a lot of minerals in that seep... The center photo shows another view of our overhang as we returned to the trail head. The photo on the right shows the wooded part of the trail as it neared the trail head.

All in all, a pleasant little hike.

Then we went back to the room, picked up a sandwich and chips at the Deli, and had lunch in a picnic area. This picnic spot was near the room and near a large grove of colorful aspen trees. We had driven past it several times and it looked like a good spot to stop. It was. These are four of the photos I took after lunch.

After lunch, we drove back to the room, then walked to the Lodge for ice cream cones and to walk along Bright Angel Point Trail again.

Back to room one more time to pick up the camera and tripod and then back to the Lodge area for sunset. it wasn't as colorful on the ridges as Tuesday's and not as colorful in the sky as yesterdays, but still worth shooting.

These four photos were taken from the terrace of the main lodge and show the evening's sunset. The photo on the immediate left includes one of the lanterns for the lodge.

We had dinner in the Saloon again – pizza slices and prickly pear margaritas. I'll miss those....

After dinner, we walked back to the room to collapse for the night.

Note to self: Don't try yoga after margaritas – it's funny! I didn't know tree pose was a sobriety test...
