Carl and I had a leisurely breakfast at IHOP with the Denver paper, then headed for Jenny and Jim’s house about noon. Visited a while, then Carl took off for a flying lesson he had scheduled. This was for an aerobatic lesson in a Pitt’s Special (right), a biplane especially designed for aerobatics. Jenny and I took off in her car to explore the area (we’re thinking about moving to Colorado in the near future), taking our cameras with us. It was a pleasant afternoon and we talked the whole time. Once he landed, we headed for Boulder for a late lunch, then hit REI downtown. We wound up spending over five hours shopping before heading back to the hotel and a light dinner. Tuesday March 7, 2006 It was such a nice day that we wound up just driving around the greater Denver area - up into the mountains a bit, down to Central City, back into town, up to Fort Collins, out to Red Feathers Lakes, then back to dinner (Sweet Tomatoes again) and the hotel. It was mostly an aimless day... |
