We woke (eventually) about 8 to find a light drizzle and a canyon full of clouds. Visibility was almost nil. Not only was the opposite rim invisible, so were most of the nearer points on the South Rim! I felt a bit sorry for all those tourists who had only this one day to visit the Canyon. Nothing was visible...

We headed for breakfast and nearly choked. We were seated at a table right next to Chatty Cathy and her family!!!! We couldn’t get away from them!

After breakfast, we reshuffled everything back to car travel mode, downloaded the photos I had taken, and generally got organized.

We packed up the car again and checked out, heading for the laundromat (again).

Two loads of laundry later, it was close to lunch time, so we headed back to Bright Angel Lodge (the only decent restaurant in the Village).

By then, the drizzle had become a cold, steady rain with a brisk wind. Visibility was even lower, if that was possible.

Lunch was followed by a visit to the Visitor’s Center and the associated bookstore, then we were on our way again.

The ranger at the Visitor’s Center said that the forecast was for rain to continue all day with the possibility it would snow all night. Sounded like a good day to split...

We drove along the South Rim (every overlook was socked in) and finally out of the park, heading for Kayenta.

The rain soon stopped, but then the wind started blowing. We arrived in Kayenta with the wind.

It reminded me of Albuquerque in the early days - sand blowing everywhere. We checked into the hotel there and had dinner.
