On to Denver.

We took the scenic route, via Gunnison and the Crested Butte area, which involved several more high passes.

We arrived in Denver, then had problems finding a hotel. The area we were looking in had those “tasteful” type of signs - the kind that are only about five feet off the ground and impossible to see from the expressway. (grrrrrrr) We finally wound up asking for a phone book at a Radio Shack and calling a couple of them for directions.

Once we checked in, I called Jenny (my sister) and made arrangements to get together for dinner that night.

We found Jenny’s house easily enough and visited for a while, then drove to Old Chicago for pizza.

On returning to their house, Jim (her husband) discovered a puddle where we had originally parked the car. He and Carl examined the puddle and found another under my car. The conclusion was that it was coolant. The reservoir level was fine, but the radiator was low. Uh-oh. Leaky radiator? We picked up some Prestone on the way back to the hotel, just in case....
