Mt. Rainier 2007

Bill looks at flood damage on the Ohanapecosh River

This photo shows my friend, Bill, looking at some of the remaining flood damage on the Ohanapecosh River. This was taken just downstream from the bridge to the Grove of the Patriarchs, which was still closed to the public. In November 2006, Mt. Rainier National Park received over 18 inches of rain in 36 hours, resulting in extensive flooding which closed the park for about six months. Not all of the park has recovered.
