We got up about 6:30. Walked over for breakfast at Bright Angel Lodge a little after 8. I had the Western omelet without cheese – this will take some getting used to.
We managed to get everything back into the suitcases and checked out about 10:30. We drove to Flagstaff. for another try at navigating the town.
I really wanted to visit the bookstore at NAU, but they were closed today for Veteran's Day. The good news is that I managed to navigate directly to the parking garage next to the bookstore without getting lost (thank you maps!!!). We'll try again tomorrow.
Next, we went to Safeway for a few supplies. Lunch was at the Galaxy Diner. What an interesting place! We split a chicken salad sandwich on croissant. Yum. Carl had a chocolate soda for the first time in a long time. Last time he had one it was 75 cents. This one was $4.25....
Then we drove down to Oak Creek Canyon to stay at the Butterfly Gardens Inn. This little cabin will be home for the next two nights. It seems okay, even if the floor slants downhill to the bathroom....
This place has a better internet connection than th Grand Canyon motel had.
We sat on the front porch and shared beers while I was typing on Facebook. Rough life... That's the photo on the left.

We walked back to office to order sandwiches for dinner and pick up a cribbage board We spent the evening playing cribbage (we broke even) and ate our sandwiches with wine. Carl had Pandora going on his tablet. Rough life indeed!
