April 9
April 10 April 11 |
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 We left town a little before 10 (after our morning gym class) heading west. We stopped in Silverthorne, CO, for a quick lunch, then continued on, arriving in Vernal, UT, a little before 5 pm. Figuring it was midweek and school was still in session everywhere, I hadn’t bothered to make motel reservations. Unfortunately, the drillers had taken over most of the town. We got one of the last rooms available at our third choice motel!!! Fortunately, they gave us a double discount on a suite, so it wasn’t toooooo bad. Dinner that night was at one of the worst excuses for a brewpub I’ve ever seen. It looked like it was trying to be a modernistic converted factory with lots of glass and chrome. Echoed badly. Potted plants were all drooping. Food was terrible. Beer was nothing to write home about. We won’t be back to this one... |
