This photo shows one of the historic Route 66 signs appearing in town. There's a story to go with this photo, also. I had spotted the sign from across the street and took a quick grab shot. It's right at the limits of my telephoto lens and I fully intended to snap a better one or just discard this one.
However, almost below this sign, stood a photographer taking a picture my direction. He had spotted me and came storming across the street asking if I had just taken his picture. Apparently, he was offended that I might take his picture without his permission. I assured him that I had shot over his head. Thinking about it later, I should have offered to show him, perhaps that would have lowered his hackles. He hadn't seen the sign. So, he stormed back to just below the sign, looked through his camera, and shouted back that I must have quite a lens as he didn't have enough of one to take a picture at that distance. Then he stomped off. What a sour mood he was in!
Well, with our discussions that afternoon lingering in my mind, I was a little shook up. Later, I was able to laugh about it. That's the only reason I kept this photo.....
