Unusual trees (Weeping Sequoias (Sequoiadendron gigantea pendula)) outside of the Empress Hotel, Victoria, BC

This photo shows some very unusual trees decorating the front entrance to The Empress. I had noticed these trees when we arrived in Victoria and spent most of the trip trying to find out what they were. I finally noticed that there was one planted at Butchart Gardens, so I approached the plant identification person and asked what the tree was that looks like a shaggy dinosaur from a Jim Hensen movie. Once she quit laughing, she told me that it's a weeping sequoia. She liked my description and intended to make a note of it... Victoria, BC.
