This photo shows a garden clacker also known as a boar scarer. The bamboo pipe on the right channels water into the lower piece of bamboo, which slowly fills with water. When the water reaches a certain point, it pivots over, emptying the water, which makes the heavier, hollow end strike a strategically placed rock, making a loud noise, supposedly to scare away any wild boars.
