This photo shows doorways to two different levels of Pueblo Bonita, Chaco Culture National Park, NM. A row of narrow, tightly spaced logs can be seen between the two levels. This formed the second layer of the floor between the two floors, laid at right angles to the first layer of larger logs. These were, in turn, covered with brush and, possibly, a layer of plaster to form a flat floor for the upper room.
